I charge Fletcher $25/yoke to drill them. These are also cross drilled so,
if you want, you can run the wire down the shaft.
It costs me $50 to have them powder coated.

the switches that come in these are tiny, cheap, llittle switches. They
hurt your PTT finger.
Trust me, I know there are a lot of ways to make flying cheaper. I see it
everyday.

Gary and Ned, my partner and I have desided to go with the ACS parts. Thanks
for the offer Gary but the description of the ACS control yoke upgrade P/N
05-16635 and 05-16610 will get me into a nice looking pair of yokes and pads
with no removal of the existing yoke for $99.50 and $42.50 respectivly
(under $150 incl switches). I had no idea powder coating was so expensive.
The description of the ACS grips also say "pilot instalable". The way I read
that is I'm just replacing an old worn out switch with one that attaches
differently than the velcro ones. No A&P sign off should be needed. Of
course I'll confirm that with my A&P. I called ACS and they are in stock. So
Ned if you want Gary's powder coated yokes feel free to take them off his
hands. No hard feelings. My partner and I are getting old and want the
cushioned grips. <G>
BTW, Ned you are correct in that the part you quoted is O/S and will no
longer be produced.

Steve,
Good luck getting the ACS control wheel and good luck getting it approved
by the FAA. There was an AD issued recently on Pipers and the Piper owners
bought up the stock on the ACS wheel and as I understand there is no new
stock coming. In Addition, several Piper chat group members mentioned that
their FSDO's would not approve the ACS wheel. Also, it is $197.50 for P/N
05-00965 While the ACS Bonanza Yoke is $585.5 inc install kit. That is
each. You might want to give ACS a call to verify this before you loose out
on Gary's offer...
If someone here does not NEED Gary's yokes I may buy them just 'cause they
are so cheap. I think The fellow in Washington charges $85 per yoke just to
drill them for mic switches!
Best Regards,
Ned
