Hi Scott:

Tinnerman's with floating 'C' clips.   I feel it would be 10 times harder if 
you converter the floating 'C' clips to fixed Rivnuts.

My suggestion would be to ADD a tool to your toolbox ... A scribe / awl.  You 
can use it to align the holes and provide a path for the screws.  ALSO!  Do 
not tighten down the screws until you get ALL the screws in place.  It also 
maybe probable that the holes in the glare shield are not in the best of 
locations.  You may have to enlarge the holes to help in alignment, that is one
of the 
advantages of using Tinnerman's they can self-align if the holes allow.  One 
last suggestion, Start from the CENTER and work out in both directions.  While

you are at it ... Make sure the center 'L' bracket from the firewall to the 
panel is secure, they have a tendency to brake at the firewall connection.

Barry's suggestions work well.  Another one is to attach the eyebrow 
separately with maybe 3 flush screws (drill new holes and use Tinnermans, 
etc.) and install the glareshield over the top of them using the original 
holes and screws down through both glarehield and eyebrow.  This helps 
prevent the Tinnermans from moving out of position and makes it a lot easier 
to reinstall the glareshield.
