--> TeamGrumman-List message posted by: "David Feinstein" <david@carneyaviation.com> # I sent this to the GG but Mark intercepted it. ... He did give # me a reply with his opinion but I'd like to get more than one. An interesting standard of communications. # I received an invitation for instrument training from an outfit # called PIC (Professional Instrument Courses, Inc). Anyone ever # used this company? Ron Levy is a PIC instructor, and about as Grumman-steeped as they come. And he's just down the road from you, in Salisbury, Md. He should be preoccupied with the AYA convention this week, however. http://www.aya.org/aya2006/ # It's my understanding I need to have my written completed first. # Is this correct? Correct. ---------------------------------------- Here are a couple of first-person accounts. One is about PIC; the other is about a private instructor using the same format - in a Grumman. http://www.campbells.org/Airplanes/Diary/toc.html http://www.alumni.caltech.edu/~ylshih/plane_home.html The comment about being in a hurry has some merit. Summer IFR and winter IFR are completely different experiences, and you can't get both in a ten-day course. If you go the PIC route, you should also hook up with an experienced CFI for some supplemental instruction throughout a calendar year. Again, Ron is less than a Grumman hour from you.

Is there a cowl flap stc available for Grumman Tigers, and if so does it help in engine cooling. Chad Miller tiger862@ligtel.com
