http://www.aucountry.com/Team_Folder/Cowling_Folder/index_Cowling.html http://www.aucountry.com/ Follow the above links for pictures and some history on Gary Vogt's cowling. LoPresti is just a nose bowl replacement while Vogt's is the entire cowling. It is lightweight and very streamlined as you will garner from the above link. Gary went to extreme lengths to build an aerodynamically superior and cooling superior cowling that can replace the no longer made 1975 thru 1979 Tiger cowls. Gary is a great asset to the Grumman community bringing his experience as an aerospace engineer, IA A&P and love for our aircraft type. He has been reluctant to publicly state exactly what speed improvement his cowl achieves. From having followed the project I am going to say that there is a speed gain and a cooling gain that will pleasantly surprise those who purchase it and it is the only new complete replacement cowl available to replace all the worn out ones in the fleet. >From what I have heard the cost of the cowl will be significantly less than a comparable after market cowl such as the $20,000 LoPresti Howl Cowl: http://tinyurl.com/9g3p65 Your Fellow Grumman Enthusiast, Ned ----- Original Message ----- From: SkyMachines To: 'Jeffrey Keesaman' ; grumman-Gang@xmission.com Sent: Saturday, December 20, 2008 10:53 AM Subject: RE: New Cowling (AuCountry) - Finally! Has there been any discussion of the cost of the cowling for the rest of us? And, sorry, but I've been off the Gang for awhile: What are the advantages to this cowl over the LoPresti?
