To bad I don't live closer to you. It would be a fun project to adapt it t
o the Cheetah. It would take e back to when I was a young engineer doing o
il flows in wind tunnels=2C and aircraft performance work.
Any chance you can move to Ohio for a year...:) If it would help convince
you=2C I have a good work associate who is a DER and would love to get invo
lved with something like this....:):)Richard MutzmanDayton=2C OH

Hi Gary,
I forwarded this from the grumman gang. I thought this line quite
comical:
"I will not try to estimate any time frame or cost at this time but the
project is actually well underway as it sits."

2 place replacement cowlings...... This is a project that was started
several years ago through the efforts of Air Mods N.W. and a contract
mechanic at the time, Keith Hunter. For many reasons the project got
sidlined and never got passed the prototype stage. The molds are still
on
hand and recent events have re-kindled this fire between myself and
Keith.
We are planning to begin the restarted effort this spring and would
really
like to know what kind of interest there would be from the fleet in a
completely new, composite direct replacement cowl that looks like the
original but is only two pieces (top & bottom) and requires no other
changes
in baffles, exhaust, etc.
If you are interested, please contact me directly (I don't wish to
create a
thousand G-Gang responses) at guru@airmodsnw.com of call on the phone.
I will not try to estimate any time frame or cost at this time but the
project is actually well underway as it sits. By the way, CONGRTS'S to
Gary
Vogt on finally getting his project completed. It really looks good and
I
will be in touch with him soon for details.

Hi Ned,
I am installing a Power Flow Exhaust on a TIger and I've had a lot of time t
o look at the current AG5B engine compartment. =C2-The airbox isn't the on
ly change that would be required. =C2-The oil pressure sending unit would
need to be moved to get the oil pressure line out of the way. =C2-The fuel
line into the engine compartment has a 45 degree bulkhead fitting; a 90 deg
ree fitting would be required. =C2-The engine primer is also in the way an
d would need to be moved. =C2-With an airbox, and all the above changes, i
t could be done on an AG5B. =C2-
The only other alternative would be modifying the air inlet and build a cust
om airbox to take advantage of a better inlet; quite possibly an inlet near
the front of #2 cylinder. =C2-
