A friend of mine has an AA1B that he wants to sell. His wife lost her
job while he was in Iraq and now they are losing everything. Kind of
sounds like a country song doesn't it.
1973 AA1B
1214 TTAF
1214 TTEngine. Compressions 62/80, 74/80, 68/80, 72/80
1214 TTProp
1214 TTleft mag
303 TTright mag
Fresh annual. Everything is pretty much stock. This was also the
first plane for another customer of mine (who has a Tiger now). He
bought it in 1976. The plane was not flown much from 2001 to 2006. It
was flown a lot in 2007 before Dave when to Iraq.
We've done a lot to this plane, fixed baffles, stopped a lot of oil
leaks, repainted the nose strut. We pulled both wings and resealed the
fuel tanks. It has a King 125 in it, plus another radio I don't
remember off hand. It's a decent little plane.
He wants $20,000 but, he'd take $18,000 for it. Make him an offer.
Forward this to someone who might be looking for a plane that needs a
good home.
PS, if you think $20,000 is too much, about what would this plane go
for out of curiosity?

Sadly I have to sell my 50% of my 75 Tiger. It is based at Whiteman
Airport (KWHP) in Los Angeles County near San Fernando. Total time
is around 3300 with 1300 since Major overhaul. It has a Garmen stack
that Gary installed about 4 years ago (no WAAS) when he rebuilt the
entire panel. I purchased it about 6 years ago and Gary did the first
annual and brought it up to Gary standards. It is in great shape and
Hangared. For complete details please contact me off list. In these
times the price is negotiable and we can discuss. If anyone has a
feeling for what 75 Tigers are going for please let me know.

Hi Gary,
Really sorry to hear about Dave's situation. If you or anyone you know
subscribes to Trade-A-Plane, they have an aircraft pricing program on the
website. I think they call it the Evaluator. It asks bunch of questions and
then provides a value range. Unfortunately, my subscription just expired.
Haven't been flying the plane nearly as much now that I don't commute to
Fresno, but I did get my CFI back after 18 years. I want to get Allisen
some logable left seat time.

Subject: | Re: Squeaking nose gear |
I crawled under the panel today to have a look at the torque tubes. The bonded
joints definitely do not appear to be broken, and each side of the tube moves
together. The squeaking appeared to be coming from the yoke area, between the
rotating center of the torque tube and the bracket that holds it to the floor
and firewall. After lubricating this joint, the squeaking went away. I think
it is safe to say that the torque tube is fine.
I'm attaching a picture of each of the torque tube bonded junctions. Any comments
would be appreciated. Thanks again for everyone's input on this.
I couldn't tell how the torque tube rotates in the firewall/floor bracket. The
plane's annual is coming up next month, and we do have the service manual for
the plane. Is there anything on that bracket that we should tell the shop to
look at or lubricate?

I should probably add that the nose gear boot was torn, which could've let some
moisture in right on the bracket/torque tube in question. A new boot is on the
way.
