Subject: | Re: Gaggle to Red Deer |
Barbara and I will be arriving late. We'll spend a few days in the Rockies
after the convention, rather than leave early for the Stampede. Tentative
itinerary:
10-11 July northern Michigan, either Houghton or Munising
12 July Minot ND with a stop at the International Peace Garden so we can
walk to Manitoba
13-16 July Red Deer
17-18 July Field BC (Lakes Louise and O'Hara)
19-20 July undecided, probably Jasper AB and another night in Red Deer
...then home, via Medora ND, maybe Crosby Minn. and the place in
northern Michigan that we didn't stop at on the way westbound.
Rather than fly out to Wetaskiwin, we'll probably spend most of convention
Tuesday driving down to Drumheller for the hoodoos and dinosaurs.
Don't knock it till you've tried it.

>From what I've heard and read, Springbank is the ONLY choice for GA going to
Calgary. About a year ago, several TCA-type Canadian airports were supposed
to implement "nominal" charges like LaGuardia's $100 surcharge. That would
probably be a significant factor in choosing which Calgary airport to use, if
YYC were one of the new "high-fee" airports.
I hope one of the Calgary-based pilots will clarify this, as I really don't know
for sure.

Subject: Gaggle to Red Deer
Folks:
It now appears that Fran and I will be traveling early and spending a couple
of days at the Stampede before hopping up to Red Deer on the 12th. Anyone who
wants to join up with us leaving the East Coast on Monday the 6th and arriving
in Calgary on Wednesday the 8th (Pat Metz recommended the Springbank Airport)
will be welcome. Anyone else who'll be in Calgary during that time, please
give us a call on my cell (410-430-4078) when you hit town. We can talk about
flying home when we get there.
Also, for anyone heading to Calgary for the Chuckwagon Races/Grandstand Show
on Saturday the 11th, we were too late for the AYA block tickets (sold out,
they said), but got seating allegedly near the AYA block. Maybe we can all
hook up for dinner before the show.
Fly safe,
Ron

Subject: | two-seat weight and balance |
Any chance someone out there in two-seat land have the front page of
their original W&B they'd care to send as an attachment?
I'm curious about the weights and arms for pilot, passengers, baggage,
fuel, and the sample loading.
Thanks in advance.
