Gary... I'm a bit confused about the need for an alodine bath.
The MIL-Spec says...

Chem Film, per MIL-C-5541, can be applied several
ways. "Unless an application method is specified,
the chemical conversion materials shall be
applied nonelectrolytically by spray, brush, or
immersion after all heat treatments and
mechanical operations such as forming,
perforating=85=85=85" This applies to touch ups as
well, as long as the touch up area does not
exceed 5% of the part surface area. Also, "The
materials from one supplier shall not be mixed or
used to strengthen an existing solution from another material supplier."

Why not just brush or spray the alodine solution
on for the required 2 to 5 minutes of dwell time?
