really like in on this deal.

PS. Was it 20 degrees cooler with the fairing? Any speed gain or

The fairing was the same one used on the Jaguar cowling. We have the tooling to
make it separately.

I'll let you know when I have 10 or more orders. As for the payment schedule,
I'll need $3250 deposit and the rest payable upon completion of the cowling.
It's a killer deal. I want to keep Composite Dave from getting a real job and

Is there any interest in a cup holder?
The design eliminates the raised portion where the handheld microphone used to
be. It's a cover for the top portion of the center console.
There is about an hours worth of fabrication plus materials in it. You paint to
match.
The going price is $40 plus shipping. As you can see, we won't be making any
money on it.

I'd like to add an unsolicited opinion on Gary's cowl. From a distance we
(LoPresti) look like a competitor. We're not. From my point of view, we sell
different products for different customers.
Gary's cowl is is a complete rethink of the system. It's the result of
years of hard work and in my opinion it shows.
So, what you've got, is a dedicated Grumman supporter offering his premier
product at a bargain basement price. He's doing this (I think) becase as
engineers our designs are, to us, also works of art. They need to be out there
to be appreciated. All I can tell you, is that as an observer, this is a
fabulous deal.
Gary, I support your efforts. You are trying to update the fleet to be more
contempory and in the process add value. Kudos!

hard would it be to get approval to use your cowl with the standard aa5b

Question: Gary, Was the temp lower with the fairing ?
Answer: Mind you, I've only done tests with and without on the Jaguar cowling.
It's worth 20 degrees on my cowling. Minimal additional cooling drag over a
flat bottom. The stock rubber boot is actually a very clever design. My guess
it was dumb luck, but, there is pressure recovery behind the boot. Not a great
deal mind you, but it works.

Hal,
Nothing is impossible. Figure hiring a DER and involving the FAA for about 2 or
3 years. At bare minimum, you'll need about 4 or 5 climb cooling tests, 3 (if
everything works right the first time) carb heat rise tests, and 3 climb
performance tests. I would estimate somewhere in the $15,000 range.
Gary.
And, thanks again for all the rides at Dayton.
