There was something I either heard about or read about years ago: Spiders get caught in updrafts - Their earth bound web acts as a parasol and they wind up at high altitudes. The long streamers are for safety in slowing down their descent when the up-draft ends and also in hopes of catching onto a tree or hitch-hiking a ride on your plane to a more fruitful field of food. Did you SQUAK 7700? Over LA at 10,000' a couple of years ago, I passed by one of those "balloon arches" that people use to decorate parties (like this: http://bouncefeverparty.com/site/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath= 8_9&products_id=21). Took me a while to figure out what it was... Thanks, Michael Michael W. I meant to add that we passed these cobwebs for about 150 miles. It was weird. I have them all over my plane. I've been flying for 32 years and I've never seen anything like it. ________________________________ From: Michael W. I heard that AJ posted to the GG about the deal on the Jaguar cowling. So far, I've heard nothing. Can't seem to give 'em away.

Just think how many people spend their entire existence within six feet (above or below) of the surface of the earth. Aviators, on the other hand, get to see such things as parachute spiders in their natural environment! // Corl Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=315358#315358

Gary, I think I have the wife convinced that I need the new cowling, deposit to follow soon. Did you change the exit ramp design with the new cowling? Between the new baffles and the new inlet design what can I expect for CHT temp's? Speed? I have the Lycon modified cylinders with about 300hrs on the engine. ( I think its a strong engine even without the powerflow exhaust ) I'm also sending my prop off to get re-pitched from 62" to 64" Scott Trejo md11strejo@yahoo.com On Oct 6, 2010, at 1:33 PM, Gary Vogt wrote: > Right now, this is what I have.
