Subject: Fuel burn at 135KTAS
I typically cruise at 135KTAS because often my time is worth the $5/gal fue
l savings=2C or I'm trying to stretch a leg to avoid an en route fuel-stop
delay=2C or sometimes trying to lengthen a flight so my daughter gets a lon
ger nap. I lean to max by ear=2C just barely richer than rough and possibl
y LOP on one cylinder. JPI EDM-700 shows 1550ish on the highest EGT. I do
n't have a lot of hot-day data yet=2C but typically I keep the CHTs well un
der 420. Same thing=2C Gary=2C I can very often get under 9.0gph and have
cruised in the high 7's. I'm confident enough in my totalizer that I could
get just over 5.0 airborne VFR if the climbout doesn't take too much=2C bu
t the longest I've logged with the new cowl is 4.5.
