I lean to max by ear=2C just barely richer than rough and possibl y LOP on one cylinder. JPI EDM-700 shows 1550ish on the highest EGT. I do n't have a lot of hot-day data yet=2C but typically I keep the CHTs well un der 420. Same thing=2C Gary=2C I can very often get under 9.0gph and have cruised in the high 7's. I'm confident enough in my totalizer that I could get just over 5.0 airborne VFR if the climbout doesn't take too much=2C bu t the longest I've logged with the new cowl is 4.5. > When you get a chance=2C set up for 130 to 132 knots TAS and then lean fo r best > lean at around 5=2C000 feet.
