During the initial look around I noticed the grounding straps were not installed. Once the cowling came off and I started going though things, I found them. One on each side. However, the paint on the engine mount wasn't removed. Good thing really. ALSO, notice the primer line. It was installed backward. The fitting on the back where the input line goes was cocked over to the side. The input line is broken off. Once the primer line was turned around, things fit a lot better

THis one is kind of hard to see. THis is looking into the airbox. The airbox has been rewelded a number of times. Lots of doublers installed.

Someone took the time to patch a hole in the heat muffler. BUT, they didn't remove the screw that was too long.

First pic: heat riser clamp broken. Next pics: Look closely. These are pics of the inner cylinder baffle. I first noticed that it had been installed with the plate on the outside between the fins. Then, I looked inside. It's an inner cylinder baffle for an O320. It's 1/2 inch too short. Between this, the missing baffle straps, poorly installed baffle seals, and baffles so bent and worn through, it's a wonder there are no signs of excess heat on the cylinders.

HEY! I like that idea Gary... A ZIPPER ... Did it also have a split ring for the mounting? What material was used for the boot and was it stiffened for where it mounts to the plane around the ring?
