Parallel valve counter balanced. I didn't realize there was one. Looks
like it has provision for either a rear or front mounted governor. The
rear one could be a scavenge pump if you wanted to turbo-normalize it!
Get rid of the vacuum pump and put a B&C 20 amp standby alternator up
there and go all electric instruments. Looks like the sump
configuration would handle the PF exhaust. Go with 9.0:1 CR pistons for
all around use. Nice engine! Go for a STC with the Scimitar prop,Gary!
I've got some experience with a 3 blade Scimitar on my Bonanza and I've
flown an RV with the 2 blade Scimitar and believe me they are nice
props. Feels like someone kicked you in the ass about 1 second after
you get the throttle all the way in. Much better than Hartzell's old
blade design. And from the problems the RV crowd around here has had
with MT props I wouldn't want one, even if it is lighter weight!

Cliff,
THis one will be STCd with 10:1 pistons. Derated to 180 hp by manifold
pressure.
It's the same sump as the -A4K. The stock engine mount and airbox will be used.
Not sure about the governor yet. Looking into the inlet on my Tiger, I think it
will fit without a lot of aggravation if it needs to go in front.
Gary

"if you wanted to turbo-normalize it"
Yes, yes, a thousand times yes!
See if TAT will adapt the Cardinal systemJ
As for the Hartzels, on the Bo they are heavier than the Macauleys BUT, I
admit my friend's A36 with the new Scimitar does seem to get up and go
better than mine with my 409. Cruise isn't much different but he really
gets off the runway and climbs well.
