No difference really. Either is OK. The ceramic ones will scar with
removal/installation of the cowling. They'll discolor too; it just takes
longer. You can, if you'd like, polish the ceramic one with polishing compound.
It's a lot of work. The ceramic also flakes off the muffler where it attaches
to the collector pipe. It's been a long time since I saw a muffler without the
ceramic. My comments refer to ones I saw over 6 years ago.
