Subject: Jaguar Cowl Air Exit Ramps

While making repairs on my Jaguar Cowl I noticed that the Air Exit Ramps have
a shape unlike what I expected. Where the ramp sides attach to the lower cowl
skin they are concave, that is they curve inward. See attached pictures.
Just curious as to why?
