Today, while flying a Cessna 152 at about 10,000 feet, I decided to give it a try and see what my results would be. I pulled power back to idle, dialed t he trim wheel all the way down, and guess what happened? The plane settled i nto a very nice glide at exactly 60 KIAS (best glide for the 152). As a recently certificated pilot, I'm surprised this little "nugget of knowl edge" was never mentioned during my training. Was this mentioned during any one else's training? Is this true for all Cessna models and/or other aircra ft? =========== comments? =========== Gary Sent from my iPad ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 11:55:05 PM PST US Subject: TeamGrumman-List: Engine thrust angle. From: Gary L Vogt I found something regarding the effect of engine thrust angle and best trim at high speed. Let's just say its my secret.
