Subject: TeamGrumman-List: High CHTS Cylnder Baffles for 3 & 4


Hi,

Gary Vogt mentions a mod to the wraparound metal baffling for Cylinders 3 & 4 ,
we are working on getting our High CHTS under control and attacking it step by
step.  Flexible baffling work is finished and has helped ~ 20 degrees.

Gary mentioned trimming of the wraparound cylinder baffling for # 3&4 that helps
with the cooling of those cylinders?  Anyone have details on that.

We have a O-320-E2G engine (77 Cheetah) with the 150 HP HC STC and short stack
powerflow exhaust

What Gary is talking about is opening up the AREA on the bottom side of 
the cylinder for less restriction and more air flow around and through 
the fins on the back two cylinders.  IOW, shortening the end of the 
baffle that wraps around the back side of #3/#4.  You will have to ask 
him about how much, probably .75-1.0 in.
