Subject: | Cooling Air Exit Design |
Anyone have information on how the Grumman Cooling Air Exit is Designed?
I would like to find the original NACA report for exit scoops. I am curious about
the length of the opening on the bottom of the cowl. Some have suggested to
make it bigger/longer to increase cooling.
I'd like to learn about why the particular NACA exit duct on our Grummans is considered
the best design for accelerating the exit air to re-enter the slipstream
at the lowest drag penalty.
Your Fellow Grumman Enthusiast,
Ned
