On 9186M, I put the 50W XeVison HIDs on the wings with the flasher option and have more than enough light for landing. They are nicknamed, the "Blowtorches". Not only do they provide a ton of light for landing, but I leave them on flash all the time day or night. Ive had the tower at KRNM even comment on them saying they are so much easier to pick out in the haze on some days. Aside from the obvious fact that the original lights aren't that bright anyway, the positioning of lights on the wing eliminate the issue of "vibration induced" failures of the incandescent bulbs. I have a 172 that I rent and I simply had enough of replacing that damn light. Finally went LED. As far as 626FT, it will be nice to see how it trues out when we get a Jaguar on it with that new induction system. Regards, L. Nav/Strobe combo on the wingtips. Got FAA approval, which wasn't that hard, but took 3 months while it waited on their backlog. --Bob Steward Birmingham, AL Sent from Samsung mobile ________________________________ Message 6 _____________________________________ Time: 06:48:22 PM PST US From: Gary Vogt Subject: TeamGrumman-List: New brake fairings Garner sent me a set of the new, thicker brake fairings. They are about twice as thick. I know I complain a lot about the quality, fit, and finish on a lot of parts, and I was ready to complain about these. Garner says they are each 8 oz heavier. I didn't compare them, so, I'll take his word for it. Now, after installing them, I can say, "I only wish every part fit as well as these do. Beats the hell out of the earlier ones." Being thicker makes countersinking for the washers a LOT easier. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Other Matronics Email List Services ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post A New Message teamgrumman-list@matronics.com UN/SUBSCRIBE http://www.matronics.com/subscription List FAQ http://www.matronics.com/FAQ/TeamGrumman-List.htm Web Forum Interface To Lists http://forums.matronics.com Matronics List Wiki http://wiki.matronics.com Full Archive Search Engine http://www.matronics.com/search 7-Day List Browse http://www.matronics.com/browse/teamgrumman-list Browse Digests http://www.matronics.com/digest/teamgrumman-list Browse Other Lists http://www.matronics.com/browse Live Online Chat! http://www.matronics.com/chat Archive Downloading http://www.matronics.com/archives Photo Share http://www.matronics.com/photoshare Other Email Lists http://www.matronics.com/emaillists Contributions http://www.matronics.com/contribution ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- These Email List Services are sponsored solely by Matronics and through the generous Contributions of its members.
