Mine currently has an AMC 304 that I want to rebuild. After talking with several people, including a very reputable AMC machinist, everyone is pushing me toward doing a chevy 3 50 conversion. Still not sure which way to go. The AMC is a very cool engin e, but parts are difficult to come by and are usually substantially more ex pensive than Chevy or Ford stuff. Sounds kind of like airplane stuff, huh? Beech vs. =10Cessna vs. Grumman? If I don't keep the engine a stocker then I'm definitely not keeping the ha lf assembled but legal and mostly working panel. I want a real panel in thi s thing. Just gotta figure out what to put it in. Speedo, Tach, Water, Oil Temp, Oil Pressure, Volts, various switches, including a manual over-ride f or the electric fan, etc. Maybe an altimeter and a DG and compass too. Stil l learning about it as I go.
