    Subject: Fuel Drain
One of my customers has had a persistent seep from the rivets on the-left wing fuel-drain. -This year, I decided to open up the fuel tank, remov e the nutplate, clean up everything, and reinstall the nutplate. -=0A=0AW hat I found was a surface that had been beat down (up?) pretty hard. -The nutplate was deformed (you can't get another one for less than $180). -T he rivets had been beat in so hard they were flat on the inside. -One of the countersunk rivet holes was so large, a #20 rivet fit just fine. -=0A =0AI sanded off all the paint around the drain hole. -Pics show the depre ssion in the fuel tank. -=0A=0AThe basic installation of the fuel drain i s so simple that beating into submission just doesn't seem fair.=0A=0AI rei nstalled with Cherry-Max rivets. -One #30, one #20. -I'll build up the surface around the drain until it's flat. -=0A=0AI'll send pics later. -
