What a draggy piece of engineering. =0A=0AWas there some design reason for that or was it just an oops? Also why 3-lbs on a 6" tube instead of 1.5-lbs on a 12" tube?=0A=0ALooks like either of those lengths w ould fit inside the wingtip if the holes had been drilled in the "right" pl = ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 01:24:30 PM PST US Subject: TeamGrumman-List: Paperwork - Bah HumBug From: FLYaDIVE Ready for this guys... Just when you think you heard everything... You just CAN'T make this up. Plane: Experimental Original Engine: O-290 Last Logbook entry with original Tach: 1645.48 Hrs The plane has ONE engine and TWO TACH's - YES, you read that correctly. A Mechanical Tach (MT): 865 Hrs and A Electronic Tach (ET): 714 Hrs Why two Tach's - I have NO IDEA!!! And neither of the Tach's match the Logbooks Engine replaced 10/30/2010 @ 1645.48 Hrs with a O-320... TT Hours on replaced engine: 5423.6 Hrs T@MOH: 4098.7 Hrs TSMOH: 1324.9 Hrs <--- At time of engine replacement ... But How the hell does one figure the time NOW? What a mess! Figures don't lie - But LIARS sure as hell TRY to figure. Gee, Barry, in my last logbook entry there was only 865 Hrs on the Tach. How come you are showing 1600 plus hours??? Yup, he is right, but then again he is NOT the builder of the plane and he signed off the engine swap AND his Safety Inspection. AND.. Are you ready for this ... Sit down... There is a Rubber Stamp from the FAA without a "N" number, Serial Number or ANY Tach Times signing off the plane with a "Special Airworthiness Certificate". But HEY< don't YOU forget to dot your 'i' and cross your 'T'. This was prompted by a plane that had had 3 tachs installed in 5 yrs, 3 engines, and a lot of transposed numbers.
