First I printed labels and cut them out, wrapped the 'print' around the wire and put clear heat-shrink over it. Worked OK but was time consuming. Second I used a ultra-fine point sharpie and wrote the label on white heat-shrink and then shrunk it on the wire. That worked out best and I stuck with it. I tried a friends Brother label-maker with the hear-shrink cartridge ..... and the results were less than satisfactory and still time consuming. As I remember the Kroy machine was more than $500 and the cartridges were pricey too. I can make a crappy (but readable) wire label a whole lot cheaper!!! As of today, I have 3 cowlings sold, to be installed here in Auburn, for $11,000. This is a savings of $2500 to $3000 over what the price will be on orders after December 1, 2012. The new price as of Dec 1st still doesn't cover my cost on the baffles. But, it's a start. I'm thinking of offering an additional discount if I can get deposits for a total of 6 cowlings by December 1st to be installed in Auburn.
