The fuel tank filler opening placards on my plane are black on white P-Touch labels and the print did not fade after being tied down outside since last February. Don't know about engine compartment heat, but they probably also saw well over 100 degrees F from the direct sun for many hours during the summer heat on days when my tanks were low in fuel. They seem pretty robust. You should get into that. Sounds like plenty of room for competition There's a guy that does flow porting and valve jobs near Denver. He is reaso nable. Just run your new cylinders out thru him and assemble the engine your self. The Lyc is as simple as a VW simpler than a Corvair as you know.
