    Depends on the year model and which alternator was installed. The early planes had 40 Amp alternators, and later ones had the "optional" 60 Amp alternator. So you'll see 10 ga on the early 2-place with 40 A alternator, then they changed to 8 ga on them. The 4-place late model planes have 6 ga. If you were to follow 43.13 guidelines for a field approval, you'd find that due to the temp rise from cooling air under the cylinders, you should use 4 ga. wire! --Bob Steward Gary Vogt <teamgrumman@yahoo.com> wrote: >what size is the wire that goes from the alternator to the main buss
