Actually, the search for true venture capital is long over. Kestrel has over fifty
million into the project to date. The search is not so much for funds as for
rate. There is little doubt that financing is available. Alan Klapmeier has
the credentials of being one of the most successful aviation entrepreneurs in
the last few decades, having started and grown Cirrus into a market leader. With
a string of successes under his belt (half a dozen variants of the SR20 and
SR22), he's a pretty good bet. The challenge is to have the funding arrive at
a controlled rate. (rate meaning both timing and percentage points).
