Subject: Tiger over voltage
I'm working on replacing all of the wiring FWF on a 78 Tiger. =C2-=0A=0AS
ome interesting observations:=0A=0A=A2 someone had installed a 14 gau
ge wire from the "A" terminal to the main buss instead of the shielded wire
to the alternator.=0A=A2 This plane 'had' both the over voltage diod
e and the over voltage relay=0A=C2- - I removed both (and the yellow Alt
light) and installed an Zeftronics R15V00 RevA regulator and added the idio
t light.=0A=A2 The wire with the diode from the yellow alt light was
pulled out of its connector. =C2-I wasn't connected anyway.=0A=A2 w
hoever installed new head phone jacks put the old ones in little plastic ba
gs and tied them under the panel=0A=C2- - no push-to-talk leads were inst
alled on the mic jacks so that'll be fun.=0A=A2 The 8 AWG wire to the
main buss had been cut and spliced twice with black tape around soldered j
oints=0A=A2 both grounded shields on the alternator had been eliminat
ed.=0A=A2 all of the wiring had cracked insulation. =C2-Very badly
cracked insulation. =C2-=0A=0AMore later=0A
