And you have to consider Bush Planes. Most are tail draggers, their tail is even closer to the ground than ours, many are fabric so, why aren't they destroyed? It could also be that the Grumman owners used a lot of throttle during taxi and that kicked up the stones at a higher velocity. So, how do the tail draggers taxi? Well, they have their nose higher into the air and much more ground clearance. Which brings up the next question... What does the Grumman's prop look like?
