Hello
I just bought a single place Rans S-14 - i'm going to fly it from Virginai back
to Maine sometime between now and May.
I have 150 hours TT in a C-152, C-172 & RV-7A (I built the RV-7A and flew it for
55 hours).
I have never flown an ultralight - i'd like to go up in one - a dual one before
trying to fly mine home with zero time in ultralights.
is there anyone out there in the New England area with a Rans S-12 - that's a two
seater - If I could just go up with you a few times I think i'd pick it up
quick - I don't even need to land it - just let me fly around once up there and
get the feel and then maybe fly it down to within 20 feet of landing and see
how you land it - that would do the trick.
thanks

This is precisely the kind of attitude that has KILLED many
a PPL flyer, when transitioning from GA to UL.
P_L_E_A_S_E_!_!_! Get yourself some ACTUAL training
in the type you intend to fly, whether GA, UL, Hi- or Lo-wing,
etc. We don't need any more statistics telling us how very
dangerous it is to fly because another PILOT got killed doing
what HE THOUGHT was proper.
Thanks,
George Bass

To Cliff and others,
George is right about getting training. I can attest first hand as to how
important it is. I sold my Lancair to a 10,000 hour Airforce pilot who said
he could handle anything. He put it on the tail the first flight and split
the rudder. Flying it wasn't the problem, landing it was. The industry and
your family don't need any kind of NTSB reports with your name on it. Get
smart, get trained and enjoy your airplane. Jerry
