Its wings and fuselage are covered with Poly-Fiber or Dacron. Thank you. Do you know what kind (type) of paint was used? This is probably the most important thing to know. IF the finish was Poly-Tone with the full Poly Fiber treatment AND the letters are painted on, you can use MEK to "wipe away" the letters and then refinish using the proper buildup of the proper products. IF the finish is Poly-thane or some other paint your options will be dependent on exactly what was used. IF the letters are vinyl decals, you may be able to GENTLY heat them up with a hair dryer (not a heat gun) to soften the adhesive so you can peal them off. I would use an infrared thermometer and monitor the heating and avoid anything above 250 degrees F. The magic temperature for shrinking Poly Fiber or dacron is 350F. BUT if your cover was put on without going full heat, heating it more than the builder used could cause it to shrink more and do damage. Hopefully you can get this information from the builder or log books. On 3/8/22 08:27, George Nielsen wrote: > > > How can I best remove the registration letters on my Avid Flyer?
