Subject: Warbird-List: AIC BOx, for Nam Era Warbird needed --> Warbird-List message posted by: "Martini Luc J.R." I have unsuccessfully been trying to IDENTIFY and ACQUIRE an AIC box for my warbird (Israeli DROR (sparrow), an IAF modified Dornier Do27 by any other name). The AIC box I am looking for, is similar to the C-737/AIC-4A Interphone box in function. However, it has different connectors on the back (1 ea 10 pin and 1 ea 14 pin Cannon Plugs) This AIC box would most likely be located on a Nam Era warbird since all the radios installed by the IAF were of that era. The box has 6 toggle switches. Three of these supply power to up to 3 radios (ARC-51, ARC-131 & HF(?)). There is also a rotary switch, which selects the radio being used to Transmit. There is also a Volume Control Knob, and possibly a Tone Button. The other 3 Toggle Switches may select which RECEIVER HOMING signal gets is hooked up to the Course Deviation Indicator. I have some very bad old pictures of the box, as well as of the AIC-4A. So if you think you know your AIC boxes, send me an e-mail and I will send those. I should add, that the airplane also uses the AN/AIC-18 Intercom Boxes for crew communications. Obviously, the AIC box I am looking for relates to Pilot Selections of Transmit/Receive functions rather than Crew Intercom function which is served by the AIC-18 boxes located at each crew station, including one for the pilot. Thanks for your help. Luc Martini ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 02:54:14 PM PST US From: "Martini Luc J.R." Subject: Warbird-List: My baby needs a new pair of SOCKS! --> Warbird-List message posted by: "Martini Luc J.R." The SOCKS I am referring to are the WINSLOW AEROFILTER CO. OIL FILTER CARTRIDGES. The P/N for these, the ORIGINAL FULL FLOW oil filters, which have a cloth cover (i.e.. the name SOCKS) is P/N 1AO586, or for the kit which includes a new seal for the pressel and new nut for the Marmon Clamp, P/N A0286. These cartridges are rather large: about 9 inches long, by 4 1/2 inches in Diameter... obviously the pressure vessel they fit in is rather substantial also. (if your not sure.. send an e-mail and I will send you a picture of one) These oil filters were used on many military aircraft as well as STC'd for several civilian birds, including: Aerocommander 560, 690 and 720 series: Beechcraft 50 and 65 series Bell 47 and 476 series Stearman 75's Dornier Do28's Hiller UH-12 helicopters Most people have converted to spin-ons, so I am hoping that somebody out there has a box full of these sitting in the corner of the hanger. If so, I will gladly take them off your hands. Or, if you know of somebody that may, let them know I'm interested, or just send me an e-mail and instructions to get hold of them. Subject: Warbird-List: 4 pack (IR Flare launcher) TO-GO Please! --> Warbird-List message posted by: "Martini Luc J.R." I am looking for a 4 TUBE IR Countermeasures Flare Launcher. Each tube appears to be about 3 1/2 inches in diameter, and closely spaced like in a 6 pack of beer. The flares were electrically fired (since I found 4 wires leading from a Fire Control / Sequencer panel on the Copilot Radio stack thad led to the 4 big holes in the side of the fuselage where the launcher was mounted.. I have not been able to identify much less acquire one of these. The airplanes were taken out of service in the early 1980's, so they predate that. The Fire Control / Sequencer box, oddly was about the width of a CIVIL radio, not the 5 3/4inch standard military panel. I have some bad old pictures of what the Fire-Control / Sequencer box looks like, so if you have some ideas, drop a line, and I will send a picture. Thanks again Luc Martini
