Hey, right off hand I'm not aware of tweet with those kind of specs, though
I'm sure something quality is out there that you can find. I too an
frustrated with the 4000x X over points, and resultingly, the sound stage
that is obtained. However, I did find a solution for myself as towards how
to raise the stage and maybe this can be of some benefit, or at least, give
you an additional option.
With my midrange and tweets being placed in the kicks (and midbass in
the door), the image is very clear and sharp, but the stage is not as high
as I was used to hearing with my factory honda (2001) dash tweeter
positions. So, I decided use both areas for my tweets.
I'm now in the process of getting an additional pair of tweets, and
running these in line with the other set of tweets, only the new set will
use a passive X over set at around 14-15,000 and up. My biggest challenge
now is where I place these tweets on the dash. I'll probably integrate a
molded piece similar to the way the tweets are positioned in the lexus sport
utility vehicles (RX or RL...can't remember). Most likely I'll position
them at the same angle as is the kicks, but with the additional tweets
being X over so high and being placed level and on the dash, the resulting
psychoacoustical nature of this setup SHOULD trick my ears in beleiving the
stage is much higher, though it is really not. I know this option is
somewhat elementary in its thought, but perhaps this may work for your
setup. If not, I'm sure you will find the right tweeter, or some way, to
highten your stage.

What were the tweet specs you are looking for? Even
the best tweets like the Focal TLR are somewhat
useless with the crossover selection the 4000X has.
I have had the best sound from level matching every
driver in the car.
Place RTA in the center of the car and play pink
noise. Find a spl level that does not distort (Make
sure EQ is flat). Now do each speaker at a time(Defeat
every speaker except the one you are working on)
measure the spl and set to a reference spl(One that
does not distort) Do this for every driver in the
front stage. Last do the sub integration by adjusting
to better integrate low frequency to your taste. After
finding gains for all speakers to same spl set all
driver to the according gain/spl structure. This
should make a big improvement.
Think of it like this. Home monitors are the same
volume and produce very similar responses. This is a
far cry from being true in a mobile enviroment. This
can help compensate for the enclosure diffeneces. If
you don't like it just go back to the last setting.

I have thought about trying that trick with another
set of tweets crossed in at 12K or so. That will
definately add more "Air", but I am really looking to
get most of the upper mids from chest height or higher
(like a home system).
I think I might go the "quad-amped" route and build
some pods with a small mid and tweet. I have seen
this a lot lately. This will still let me use a
higher crossover for the tweet, therefore increasing
power handling and reducing distortion by reducing the
tweet's excursion. This seems to be the most logical
(but hardest) way to get what I am looking for. If
they can mount a 5.25" or 6.5" in an a-pillar, I hope
I can get a measley 3" mid in there with out much
headache.
Thanks for all your suggestions! Keep em' comming...
