IIRC sony's test car was a black bmw... funny that they mention the 5 year warranty. is that from last time sony actually shipped it or from when they sell it... lol. the processor and the head unit is probably what the c90/4000 combo is now... -- Leo G. I don't know that much about programming, but wouldn't one have to make some hardware changes (to the 4k) to add X over points? Also, I've been wondering everyone's opinion about the Alpine F1 status EQ processor and head unit. I hate to say it but that beast seems to be superior to the 4k easily. It has 175 bands of standerd EQ, a parametric EQ, time allignement, 5.1 and DTS capabilities, muting abilty, phase shift switches, RTA depiction, multiple Xover points and slopes, and more. For $4000 dollars though I just can't seem to fork out that kind of cash, plus 3000 for the HU. Anyway, with all the controversy in what is the best DA converter, Alpine bosts a plethora of 24 bit DA's. How is this DA in comparrison to Sony's 4k (and c-90). Also, the signal to noise ratio is much higher in the 4k (112), as apposd to the alpine (around 95 I believe). ANyway, what is your opinion guys? Not only that, but how much longer can we all hold out with the 4k particularly due to the X over points? Patrick Freeland
