Read the first line of my original post...oscilliscope...with true RMS 
readings.  This is why I posted the readings becuase there was conflicting 
spec numbers actaully from Sony...some places in their literature it would 
say 8v and others would say 4V.   I measured it and ats 4.5 V.

Say, that is quite interesting--because isn't the XDP-4000X supposed to have 
"8V Preout" level?

If the case is that it is actually 4.5V (RMS?) then I wonder what the 
XDP-210EQ is actually at, considering it is stated as being "4V" by Sony.  
To add yet another question to this mix, I wonder what the "4V" head units 
(pre-Xplod) are at actually and what the Xplod-era "5.5V" HUs actually 
measure?

Actually in compliance with most warranty laws, I'm pretty sure that the 
warranty is valid from the date/time of sale onwards (provided it is 
purchased in accordance with requirements such as buying from a currently 
authourised dealer).  So even a unit that went out of production a long time 
ago and is sold at a dealer many years later the warranty would still be 5 
years from the date of purchase (provided that unit has never been sold 
before).

As for the C90 + 4000X, I believe the 4000X may actually be a 
superior/updated processor (or maybe just a more versatile one?) in 
comparison to the XES processor (what is that called the "C1"?).
