I'm using the CDX-T70MX with no issues, except for the lack
of MP3 names...
The C90 has a listing of songs/names with the changer...
Personally, I'd just get an MP3 changer and that's it. Much cheaper than the phat
kegs...

Subject: | master and XDP-4000X problem |
--> XDP4000X-List message posted by: "ToR" <calculathor@hotmail.com>
Hi,
I'm thinking of using the Sony MDX-C8500X (or something else) as master
with DVX-100, XT-U500V and hopefully DMP3 mp3 player.
I want to use XDP-4000X but here is my problem
1) does the XDP-4000X delay the sound about 500ms? Which would cause
sync problem with video??
2) I'm not sure if MDX-C8500X (or newer head units) will control
XDP-4000X
3) I'm not sure if MDX-C8500X has digital out.
4) MDX-C8500X has HX DSP, Crutchfield says Sony's most powerful built-in
signal processing package ever.
HX DSP has;
7-band equalizer 8 presets (Rock, Vocal, Jazz, Classic, Groove, Talk,
Techno, and Custom)
Digital Seat Position (5 settings)
Dynamic Soundfield Organizer (DSO) (8 presets = soundfields + speaker
height/width enhancements)
Also MDX-C8500X has 3 sets of 4v RCA outs.
any help is hugely appreciated
Thnx.

Yeah, but that HX DSP can't hold a candle to the 4000X in bothaudiophile sound
tinkering and options...and what are you going to do about a crossover? I've never
heard an internal EQ/DSP that I liked. They usually change the sound more
than "fix" it. I like my music to sound natural is I can possibly get it.
And a quality I wish other Audiophile head units had... C90 has ESP. I think that
if the Pioneer P9 had ESP and bigger crossover slopes, I'd try it. I've been
spoiled with C90/4KX and now I feel like it's "downgrading" if I go with something
else. :-/

XES-Z50 filters the sound to 3 parts
XDP-4000X divides to 4
I think the biggest difference is that XES-Z50 can do individual
parametric eq on front(5 band), rear(5 band) and sub(2 band)
XDP-4000X has 10 band peq, XES-Z50 has 12 band
Also here are the crossover points for both
XDP-4000X
6.34 kHz
5.03 kHz
4.00 kHz
1.25 kHz
793 Hz
500 Hz
99 Hz
78 Hz
---------
XES-Z50
8.00 kHz
6.34 kHz
5.03 kHz
4.00 kHz
3.17 kHz
99 Hz
88 Hz
78 Hz
does anyone have the specs for the older 91' XES P1 & X1

Wouldn't it be nice to get crossover points somewhere between 78hz-99hz for
the sub,78hz-250hz midbass, 200hz - 3khz midrange, and tweets somewhere
between 25khz and 3khz up.........
one can dream huh......... though i think that there would be a way to
program the XDP4k as well as the Z50......... if any of us know how.......
tisk tisk..... i'll go back to bed now :)
