Check EBay. Just search for '12v fan'.

When I have it on the radio its clearly lower in volume and I can hear some constant
hissing noise. But when its playing a CD its loud and absolutely crystal
clear.
I have a C90 connected to a 4000x DSP with a fibre optic cable (this is for the
CD) while a UTP RCA is used for the radio. Any suggestions on how to get rid
of this....is it a bad ground on the deck?
BTW after I changed decks from my previous clarion headunit it the radio got worse.

From my experience, the signal strength of Sony tuners is pretty weak. I had a
CDX-C7850 before I upgraded to my C90 and it got KILLER reception, but was still
never very loud compared to my previous tuners I had -and of course not as
loudcompared to CD. The C90 is just not good for radio I've decided. I replaced
my antenna and I also tried grounding the C90 in multiple spots to get better
reception and it never happened. To compensate for the volume loss, I turned
up the gains on my amplifier just slightly. Otherwise I'd have them set at 4V.
This lets me get reasonably loud with the radio. And then I just be careful
not to turn up the CD volume to max. I also have displays for each amp that tell
me if they are clipping, so I can monitor the output and not have to worry
about hurting my speakers.
You could always use your4000X in conjunction to weaken the CD signal if you ran
the gains a little hotter. Just make your RCA output weaker on all of your presets
except maybe one that you call "Radio." Just an idea if you're really having
volume problems.

--> XDP4000X-List message posted by: Matt Dralle <dralle@matronics.com>
Dear Matronics Listers,
Sometime during the next 72 hours, the ISP (Internet Service Provider) for
Matronics will be upgrading the level of service to 1.1Mb from the current
768k. When they reprovision the line, there will be an outage requiring
that the local router here be restarted. It is also unclear whether or not
the physical line will support the new rate, so some testing will be
required to verify the new service at the time of installation.
Unfortunately, I don't really have an idea of exactly when they will be
reprovisioning the line, so I wanted to give everyone a heads up on what's
going on. All Matronics List services such as email list redistribution,
subscriptions, and web search and browse will be unavailable during the
upgrade.
In other upgrade news, last Thursday, 3/13/03 I upgraded the firewall
appliance between the Internet and the Matronics systems. This new
firewall represents a substantial increase in performance and hopefully
reliability over the previous system. It will compliment nicely the new
level of ISP connectivity.
Finally, these are just two examples of the upgrades brought to you
compliments of the 2002 List Fund Raiser. A special thanks to all that
made a Contribution in 2002 and so far this year! Everyone that uses these
Lists appreciates your generosity!
I will post a short message again if I manage to get some clear direction
on the time-frame for upgrade, or perhaps when its been completed.
Thanks again!!

Zapco Remote Status Display (RSD). They have a telephone-jack that you use to connect
the RSD to the amplifier. The RSD shows power on, protection, independent
left/right channel clipping sensors, and features a LO-P switch/light. When
you turn LO-P on (stands for Low Power), when the amp clips it halves the amplifier's
output. This helps save your speakers if you induce clipping.

try this blower fan from RS:
http://www.radioshack.com/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=CTLG&category%5Fname=CTLG%5F005%5F007%5F014%5F000&product%5Fid=273%2D199
part#: 273-199 in case the link doesnt work...
if they are in an enclosure, you can make an inlet and outlet vents and
use 2 in a push-pull config...
also, RS sells a horizontal design so you make the vent a slot, like a
1"x6" vent. i couldnt find it online but i remember seeing in a store...
