I picked up a cheap Sony deck at Fry's to do the development, but it doesn't support DSP control so I can't test interaction with the XDP-4000x. The master inits the 4k, but doesn't seem to talk to it beyond that. Interestingly, while the deck won't control the 4k, it dorks over the EQ selection on the deck too. Anyone know what, if any, current model Sony decks still support DSP control? I was looking around on EBay for something in good condition I could use for development; found a used C90 and a CDX-8850. Hum, might have to make a bid... Matt -- Matt G. Dralle | Matronics | P.O. You can usually find a CDX-C780 or CDX-C680 that will work fine in the $150 range on eBay... So what is this supposed to do? Let you control you Unilink system via laptop/PC? Would this essentially make the laptop the unilink source selector/controller? If so, that would be a nifty idea. You could even incorporate a jukebox style program for organizing multiple changer's libraries in one place. FYI - I have seen something EXACTLY like this for the ES home "Control S" and "Control AII" protocol. I think it is called "Slinky". It will network all SONY AII/Control S gear, and tie ALL of the known media (including all Sony changers AND local hard drive audio) into a jukebox style program. If something like this could integrate with the Phatbox's Unilink, that would indeed be the ultimate car-audio jukebox system! Especially if the PC could read out the full ID3 titles and relay them to the head unit for proper ID3 decoding. I guess if the idea would be to have a laptop in your ride, the Phatbox would be obsolete since the Laptop could be used as the music server - AND add an optical out soundcard as well! Now we're talkin'!
