Wait a minute DISPLAY and Steering Wheel Interface you say??? Does that mean the display from the HU will be displayed somewhere else in the car??? I'm from North America so I've obviously never seen those adapters or had experience with them (none of those cars makes are sold in Canada), but the thought of having the DISPLAY part work is interesting. If those adapters work on Sony UniLink heads (via the UniLink connection) then they would probably work on the C90 (of course I can't be sure or anything). Really, the display information simply comes from the UniLink connection and manufacturers could use this for something. For instance we all know there are adapters for Sony RM-4XS/2XS to GM cars with steering controls but wouldn't it be neat if they could make it work with the HUD in some GM cars as well? Unfortunately no company has done this here and I doubt any will, but I must say that it is impressive if companies have done that overseas. Roland M.

Really? I didn't know the C90 was different in this respect (from every other UniLink head). Sorry about my post with the incorrect info (which incidentally would work on almost every other UniLink HU)... >Just a note: I found the Left to Right LPS offset >sounds a bit artificial for my tastes, but the front >to rear offset will make your front stage come ALIVE >if set properly (Read that "not too much rear fill!") > Yeah I find that the factory settings for the Front L and Front R listening positions are a bit odd. They are easily tweaked in the setup menu though. Usually since I have a passenger, I too just leave it on Front which does, as Randy said, make a large difference. The thing that I find is dumb is that the 210EQ was clearly designed for Japan (and the UK and anywhere else cars have Right-Hand-Drive). You always have to go through "Front R" before "Front L" which is backwards for anywhere where cars have the steering wheel on the left hand side of the car! They could have easily changed this for NA units I think. >The one thing I miss on my XDP-4000x is the instantly >avalible bass and treble controls. Yeah when I first got my 210EQ I was like "what's the point of these they are just essentially two equaliser bands not grouped with the EQ settings". But I soon found out that with the hassle of going to the EQ settings and then going through them all just to find one setting the Treble and Bass controls are a welcome addition. The only thing that I wish they would have done was make the EQ so you could PICK which bands you wanted for your "quick access" Treble and Bass items. The fact that they are fixed kind of annoys me. Oh, sorry about the late reply to this--I was running on a dial-up connection for the last two months or so (just moved in May) and I was just too annoyed with the slow speed and taking up the phone line to stay online for very long at a time... Roland M.

I don't mean to be picky but I did notice a small mistake in your caption description of the 4000X... The 4000X actually has 4 D/A Converters (one per output pair) not 8 (or 16?) like the caption mentions. They are also made by Crystal Semiconductor, not Burr-Brown. Sorry if I seem like I'm nitpicking. The page is very nicely setup though. I hope those changers don't mind those subs being right in front of them! :) Roland M.
