I have a C30 and a U40D and (at home) a U40. But when I connect it, the cd
changer is starting to load a cd but never stops with that sound. So it
sounds like it is loading a cd for hours. (CDX-M70)
My CDX-828 does not function at all when I connect the phatbox.
So I meant : on what input is the phatbox, c30, xdp4000, etc.
I have got a few tips from Matt which I will try out...
Let's say this isn't the last thing you've heard of it ;)

By the way Matt : why DO you have two XPD-4000X's. And what is connected to
it ? Seperate left and right DSP ?
First I have to rebuild my car. I want the Phatbox not near my subwoofer
(hey, it's a harddisk and I know harddisks from my work. They suddenly stop
living)
I know that harddisks will survive better when they are horizontally, not
vertical, so I would like this one in my glove compartiment. (I only wear
gloves when I'm on my bike and only when it's winter)
Thanks for now and I will let you know every step of the way.
BTW : why does the List function not work with the Phatbox ? I always use
that with the minidisc or with CD-Text CD's.
Best regards,
Dick Brussee

I have a 4000x for the front and another for the rear. That way I can
adjust the EQs separately. Even though I have exactly the same brand and
type of speakers in the front and the back, the dynamics of the mounting
and enclosure volumes are significantly different. Just made sense to have
two 4000x. Well, that and its pretty cool... :-)
Regarding the CD Changers, I have hooked the Phatbox up with both 838 and
848 changers with no problems. What if you just put in a single C30 and
connect the changer to one port and the Phatbox to another? Try putting
the Phatbox on the #1 input (or is that output?) on the C30. Used to be
that the Phatbox had to be on the #1 port. I thought that that had been
fixed in the Phatbox firmware, though.
Yeah, the List function doesn't work which is kind of a bummer.
Another thing I really wish the Phatbox did was create the Track and Title
display data from the ID3v1/2 tags instead of the filenames. I have a
Creative Jukebox 3 and it automatically reads this data when it displays
tracks and albums. Not a big deal I guess, but it seems like a simple
enough modification in the Phatmanager.
Anyway, keep us posted on your progress...
Matt
