man that is sweet. I dont believe that there is any resurrection of the car ES
line. The Home ES line has always been a strong product division for sony. I really
want that unit too that is sooo Sweet. the only thing wrong with sony format
is that there is not a lot of cross compatibility. like their disk text.
it never reads anything but sony cds. My friends alpine would pick up almost everthing.

line of "ES" receivers, and a new SACD player with
Firewire!
The STR-DA9000ES appears to have finally shunted the
old 9000 seperates. 7 channels, 200WPC, 9.1 capable,
DVI AND Firewire interfaces, Component video
up-converting. 3 room source selection, You name it!
$4500 is a bit steep, but looks like Sony is still
thinking about SOME of the Audiophiles left!

Apparently there was a way to change this on older models in service mode, I
believe. I dunno about the newer models or even what the service mode
commands would be on newer units without a service manual which I don't have
access to :(
I noticed that on my CDX-C8850 the radio to CD difference is a lot worse
(larger difference) than it was with my nearly identical XR-C9100. And yep
I'm talking about the CD changer levels on the XR. The difference between
the radio and both the main unit CD and changer levels on the CDX-C8850 are
far worse than the difference between the radio and CD changer on the
XR-C9100...

Yeah this option should appear on both the C910 and C780 when a DSP is
connected. I don't know exactly why it was put there but it did come in
handy when pairing the C910 with the 210EQ because there was a problem with
the C910 overloading the input on the DSP. But it applied to both the
digital and analog outs AFAIK...

Doesn't the C90 have Diversity Tuning? Does anyone use two antennas? My
XR-C900 had diversity but I never got around to using it when it was in use.
Do two antennas make it any better?

I remember my first XR-C900 (which was used) did this. Dunno why it did
this but I never had to "help" it--it just kinda paused for a second and
then continued its movement... I later sold that C900 and bought a brand
new C900 (for less than I sold the other one I would add!) and it never did
that. Though I don't use the C900 anymore it still doesn't do that to this
day. Seeing that the first one I had was pretty well used I can imagine
after a long time the motor may just get weak or something that was
lubricated may become dried out and therefore make it harder for the motor
to do its work.
I think the face motor is a bit expensive though, so it may not be worth
fixing it... A lot of people over the years have criticised all motorised
faces (from all manufacturers) because of their "ability" to one day fail
and leave it stuck and you stuck not being able to change media...
Perhaps it just needs some lubrication or something...
