I need this to power a few OP Amp based circuit s in one of my cars. Do any list members know where to find one of these? > Thanks, > Jim I was looking for something to do +/- 15vdc for a similiar application, so that I could run Behringer pro audio parts in the vehicle. You may be able to find such a beast in the form of a "DC-DC coverter." These are solid state switchmode all-in-one things that seem to do the trick. The fun part is finding one, maybe are 48vdc input as they are used in computing and telecommunications equipment. They exist though!

I found an XA-D210 on ebay. So, I am all set. But, because the discussion was interesting, I will continue my line of thought. I had thought of using the 5V out of the plug, but that seemed a little more complicated to get at. 12V tends to be very easy to find in the car. I could have ran a wire from the 12V turn on wire or power antenna lead. I think that would have been easier than trying to concoct a way to get the 5V off that plug. You've already got 5v coming from the C90 for powering the XA-D211. That should be sufficient to power the other devices. That way you don't have to mess with extra power and how to turn it on and off. Everything else seems to be 6V-9V. I figured it would be fairly easy to wire it to turn on with the head unit instead of finding a cigarette lighter power adapter or something of that sort. > >----- Original Message ---- >From: Matt Dralle >To: xdp4000x-list@matronics.com >Sent: Tuesday, August 29, 2006 2:53:54 PM >Subject: XDP4000X-List: XA-D210 and XA-D211 Pinouts > >At 05:13 AM 8/29/2006 Tuesday, you wrote: >>--> XDP4000X-List message posted by: Christopher Scoles >> >>Hi everyone. I am new to your list. I thought I would introduce myself. My name is Chris. I have had a Sony ES 910 for years and am now finally starting to build out the system. I recently picked up an XDP-210EQ. I looked for a 4000 for a while, but they seem to be very hard to come by. My first question is regarding the XA-D210/211 adaptor. I have been trying to pick one up for a while. There were two on ebay just recently, but I lost out on both auctions. Anyway, I been through your archives researching alternatives to the adaptor. I was specifically looking for the actual pinout for the plug. I know there are three different channels, VCC, Data, and Ground. What I couldn't find is which ring on the plug is which? The reason I ask is because, I found this converter, http://cgi.ebay.com/Audio-A! uthority-977T-977TPO-Digital-Converter_W0QQitemZ5805001032QQihZ008QQcategoryZ14968QQssPageNameZWD1VQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem. This probably means, that for the XA-D210, the TIP is +5v, the next in ring is DATA, and the shoulder is Ground (connection closest to the plastic). > >You should verify this with a Volt meter and optionally a oscilloscope. > >As far as a digital to toslink converter, you might also want to take a look at your local Radio Shack.
