hello, I am hoping that you list members will reply to this request w/your recommendation on the best way to go here...I lost the faceplate on my C90 over six months ago and I have been unable to replace it as of yet. The ebay auctions that I have followed generally go too high for me to win the bid. My alternatives for now are to continue to look for a faceplace up for auction, a complete C90--but use only the faceplate, or to find a C910 to replace it with instead. Does anyone have any experiences or thoughts as to which might be the most affordable option--or most readily available? I would have considered replacing my C90, but w/the the fiber optic cable being the only connection to my trunk (w/the xdp4k and amps), adding a new HU w/full-length RCAs would be a considerable expense. regards, John c90(sort of)/xdp4k/brax/dyn _________________________________________________________________ Get a FREE Web site, company branded e-mail and more from Microsoft Office

I've got a C910 if you are interested. Using the fiber optic cable you have no reduction in performance from the C90. Make me an offer if you want. -----Original Message----- From: owner-xdp4000x-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-xdp4000x-list-server@matronics.com] On Behalf Of John Anderson Sent: 13 March 2007 20:11 Subject: XDP4000X-List: RE: need a C90 faceplate, ebay...alternatives? <jbanderson69@hotmail.com> hello, I am hoping that you list members will reply to this request w/your recommendation on the best way to go here...I lost the faceplate on my C90 over six months ago and I have been unable to replace it as of yet. As cheap as a C90 can be had off the net these days, I would think all you need to do is have a little patience and start watching the forums and ebay closely. It shouldn't take too long before you happen across a C90 in need of a little love and attention and if all you need is a working faceplate then I'd try to put down an offer on a unit in need of repair and hope it will work for your application. If it turns out to be completely broken you can always take your chances with the Sony repair facility... Last I knew of, they still make attempts at repairing this unit although I can only speculate at how successful they are at it. I sent my C90 in to Sony to have the face repaired and upon its return it won't play CD's anymore. Unfortunately, no one I've come across has the capability to fix it as it stands right now, including Sony. But to me the working parts inside of the thing are still worth more than most 'like new' C90's go for on Ebay... (I'm one of the few who originally bought a C90 all the way back in '98 and paid full price... $ouch!$) There's plenty of people out there who are looking for some quick cash and I've seen quite a few broken units with supposedly working faces go for under $200 over the years. if you're impatient you could always put down the necessary cash on a working unit, strip it of its faceplate and then put it back up on Ebay and get ~$100 back. Just last year I got a NIB C90 off Ebay for $400, which may seem pricey to someone on a limited budget but to me it was well worth the expense. Even if you spend $350 on a unit in good condition and turn around to sell the deck without the face for ~$100 you're still getting a bargain if you ask me. You still have lots of options, just depends on how much money you're willing to spend and how long you're willing to go without a radio. Best of luck! -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: "John Anderson" <jbanderson69@hotmail.com> > > hello, > > I am hoping that you list members will reply to this request w/your > recommendation on the best way to go here...I lost the faceplate on my C90 > over six months ago and I have been unable to replace it as of yet. > > The ebay auctions that I have followed generally go too high for me to win > the bid.
