It just occurred to me in this morning's daydreaming

Ah, those inscrutable orientals! What is a mere 200 airplanes compared
to instant "spontaneous" demonstrations on the streets by 10's of
thousands against American policy?
I have seen a few CJ's that had tow hooks installed. I'm told that
these were used by squadron leaders to tow banners in parades. Stuff
like "Long Live Chairmen Mao", etc. Kind of a Chinese CAG Bird, there
are pics of special paint jobs for big events but only a few CJ's were
ever left that way, some in Chinese museums.

John,
I have a 55M with the paddle prop. When I had my prop balanced, it
already had weights on th hub. They attached on the sides of the hub right
at the blade root. The weights are very slim "C" shaped pieces that are the
same radius of the hub. You should be able to see the mount holes for them
on the sides of the hub at the blade root.

My prop balancer just scratches his head.

I'm having a colonoscopy tomorrow. I'll be happy to
send you along a pint of what I'm drinking! :-)
I was referring to an earlier post (by Craig Payne, I
think) telling us about a Chinese aerial parade in
which this occurred.
I was just ruminating on it an got to thinking what it
would be like for the YPA clinic:
"Loopers, check in"
"two"
"looper three"............
"lead this is Looper five, I think four is still
getting his helmet on, should be with us in a minute."
"Looper Lead, copy that"
Pause....figit.....jeeze....
"Loopers, check in!"
"Looper Two"
"Looper Three"
"This is Looker Four, Are we checking in?"
"That's affirm, four, welcome aboard.....Loopers check
in."
"Looper two"
"Looper Three"
"Four's here and ready to rock and roll"
"Five"
"Lead, this is blue flight two, I mean, looper 52, My
lead had to run back to the shack to get his checklist
from his helmet bag......should be back here in a
min..."
"Looper Seven"
"eight"
"Nine"
"Where's Looper Six?"
"BREAKER BREAKER 19! BREAKER BREAKER 19! Everybody
dismount and come over to lead's aircraft....On the
double....we are running out of daylight!"
Then, of course, there's the "Bingo fuel" call shortly
after the thumbs up signal reaches the number 83 ship
on it's way forward.....

Ernie,
We are also fabricating new hose assemblies. The prices for individual hoses
vary. We will do one hose or the set. Like Mark Jefferies stated we also
request your old fittings, at this time. We are awaiting word on an order of
fittings from the factory, right now, so this may change for our customers in
the future. We use internally-steel braided hose. Stay away from people trying
to sell you the Mil-H-6000. We'd be happy to help you out: Carl W. Hays
Enterprises, 858-292-7222 in San Diego, CA 92123.
Cheers,

I must have not been clear in my last post. If someone knows the dimensions
of the FITTINGS, I may be able to get them, that way people dont have to
send in old fittings.

Walt,
Good luck. I had one in February and you could see the light from the
scope if I opened my mouth. :)
By now, you gotta love that porcelain horse! Have a good ride.

Ernie,
Yes there are metric fittings available, as close as your nearest
industrial suppier. Most of what is on the CJ and Yak are 10MM, 12MM,
and 16MM sizes, with some 8MM. However in my experience, these fittings
were NOT designed for aviation use and are very heavy. I prefer the real
thing and have been using fittings from the Yak-52W. These fittings
allow mating the metric hose to SAE fittings and hose. I got CJ air
hoses from Doug Sapp and fittings for oil/fuel from George Coy.
