I have very low-speed email service via HF radio but I save that for important stuff. > Have fun, and watch out for those pesky pirates! They have already found me. But instead of flying the Jolly Roger they wear polo shirts that say "Boatyard Manager." At least when they take your gold they are good enough to just charge it to your Visa. I've given 200 hours of dual in Yak-52 out of 6,000 dual given. Even got an FAA inspector (my poi, boss when I was doing the Examiner thing) to give me my annual fed ride in my -52. When we were all but done he asks from the front seat "Will you show me a lump in this thing?" I obliged. There are a few great ones out there. Respectfully, Rick >>> jon@zoso.email.net 12/18/02 12:44AM >>> --> Yak-List message posted by: "Jon Boede" I'm using the holidays to charge through my CFI training. We asked the FSDO if it would be possible to use my CJ, they talked to the examiners, who agreed to the fun. I don't intend to instruct in the CJ after that, I just think becoming an instructor will make me safer and stretch my brain. Plus a CFI friend of mine (who has about 5,000 hours of dual-given) thinks that doing my CFI training in the CJ would be a WHOLE lot more fun than doing it in a 172RG. :-) After the first outing today, I'm now quite sure that my friend and I can muddle through... but it's also quite obvious that if I could bend the ear of someone who's given some CJ instruction before I could be doing a whole lot better job of it. So, is there anybody on the list who I can talk into taking pity on a CFI student and helping them not torture their instructor too much? :-) Thanks, Jon - jon@email.net ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 11:40:45 AM PST US From: "Richard Basiliere" Subject: Re: Yak-List: don't forget to reset your clocks! --> Yak-List message posted by: "Richard Basiliere" Greetings from the Peoples Republic of Boulder. NIST is here in Boulder on Broadway and the phone # for the atomic clock is 303-499-7111. We use it all the time to program the correct time into our defibrillators so our records are accurate as to when we did what. By reaming out the holes you could be reducing the strength of the bosses. The degree of strength you loose would be proportional to the amount you ream out. If it were me I'd consider replacing the affected parts or, as a last resort, have a stress analysis done on the part. At any rate, you're probly lookin' at getting custom bolts made for an iffy situation. Fly Safe! Frank
