Jim,
No one voted specifically for these rules...that's part of the problem.
The only counterbalance to the Administrative rule making process is
the courts. Not one President has yet to step up to the Beaucracy. Oh
yes, some took symbolic action. Rember the phrase: "get government of
the backs of the people"? Great one liner and just about as effective.
Yes, THIS IS ABOUT AIRPLANES, Freedom, and every other pursuit of
happiness.

Hey while. were off opic of airplanes, my wife has been shopping for a
horse, what should we look for in a saddle, any advice on the type of hay we
should be feeding a mare?
I also had this awful hemorroid problem this week, should be using
suppositories or creams? How es one apply either, how long before the
soothing effects will replace the painful burining and itching

RIGHT! That is exactly my point, Jim. And this *is* about airplanes!
What part of "revoke your airman's certificate" is not about airplanes?
When you delve into this discussion the roots of the causes need to be
examined in order to come up with any reasonable solution, right?
Well, in this case it is political, bureaucratic, and all the other
"unfun" stuff we'd just as soon not talk about. But when an issue
arises with the gravity that this one possess, don't give it the pansy
a**, mealy mouth "let's just talk about airplanes" crap. If we don't
all do something about this - write our congressmen, pick up the phone,
share this fiasco with our pilot friends who can in turn do the same to
help spread the word and fight this - at some point all we *will* be
able to do is TALK about airplanes, because flying them will not be an
option....

Yes. And giving the government the power to arbitrarily take away our
rights - the rights of law abiding citizens - is doing exactly that. Do
you think that if someone IS a legitimate security risk by possessing an
airman's certificate that taking away a piece of paper is going to

I believe that the members of our association (YPA) should request the
leadership of our association to execute a well thought out letter to the
appropriate powers that be in consort with the EAA and AOPA. Copies of that
letter should be sent to both organizations as well. Then we as members of
the YPA should in turn do our part and draft our own individual letters to
the same individuals and to our own Senators and Congressman, copying the
EAA and YPA.
But first I sincerely believe the YPA Board of Directors/Mike Filluci needs
to draft the letter on behalf of the members of our association. Anyone
agree?

Does she intend to ride western or English style ? If English style I
suggest a sprung tree saddle it is much better for jumping. Western just get
one that feels like a lazy boy.

feeding as it will reduce the chances of colic.

Right. Hay for horses is right out. We should be talking about hay to feed a
Yak. Do Yaks have hemhroids? Can you use a Yak to reduce the painful burning
and itching? And here I thought that was from crabs and now I find out it is
from Yaks.

Speaking of which, in England I was out flying over Salisbury Plain, down
over Stonehenge with my sister as my GIB doing some aeros. The landscape is
slow rolling countryside, excellent A10 country. I was doing some serious
nap of the land, bouncing up for hedges. Imagine my suprise when I came over
the lip of a hill inverted to see the Royal Artillery Hunt in full flow. As
Oscar Wilde said the unspeakable in pursuit of the uneatable. I was about 50
to 100 feet up, there were horses and hounds everywhere. It is amazing how a
pack of hounds and horses react to a big thumping M14P at full tilt. Good
news though I did see the fox get away to make it another day.

Now that winter is really here, (-12F this morn, snow tomorrow) I have
my CJ canopy at home in my "study" (basement to you FL boys) in front of
the TV to keep me entertained while I change out all the glass. What
great fun :( ... and I'm stripping all the paint off the frames.
Good thing I'm not paying for the labor on this. Those who have done
this before understand. The worst part is having to micromesh small
scratches each time I fumble a tool mark on the plexiglass.

micro mesh is a Plexiglas polishing kit. I have not tried it but have heard it
is hard to make it turn out well.

Gang,
I've just been contacted by the folks we rented a house from two years
ago at OSH. It can easily house 10. I'm willing to organize the house,
provided I have the cash up front, in hand - this after getting the
short end of the broom handle last time. So, if you're looking for a
nice place to put your head at night that is about 2 mi. from the field,

I've had good luck with it... but you must have great patience and follow
the directions exactly. Each successive grit must be at 90 degrees to the
previous "sanding".
I like Plexus as a plexiglas polish... or a good rainstorm. :-)
