I believe, just FYI, that the EAA has promised to make warbird formation flying in and out of OSH during the show a lot easier this year. Again, for those of you who missed it, we have the opportunity to rent a house close to the field in OSH. The rate is quite reasonable (works out to about $20 pppn). I'm happy to organize it and have just two requests. 1) People contact me off list (so far we have 3 takers...need 6 more) soon, and 2) you send me a "deposit" so I don't get stuck with a <cough> disproportionate part of the bill. badeepbadeepbaddepa, That's All Folks! From: "Michael Vonic" <MVonic@hntb.com>
--> Yak-List message posted by: "Michael Vonic" <MVonic@hntb.com> A few months ago (September?) someone in this group coined the phrase SAFE formation. While driving in his car, if I recall. This is a great memory tool to teach and keep people focused on the fundamentals of formation flight. As described, SAFE stands for Self, Aircraft, Flight, Ego .... The week after that posting, I used it as an aid while instructing ground school (JLFC), with much success. I am currently writing an article for the Joint Liaison Formation Committee (JLFC, a fellow FAST signatory) newsletter which expands on the SAFE concept. I would like to give credit where credit is due. Would the author please step forward, either on or off-line? Or maybe the others can out him for me.
