Matt,
A suggestion:
Until we get shed of this guy who keeps posting all the crap why don't we simply
close the list to all new members unless they are recommended by an existing
member. Then block his current ID. Yes, this may inconvienance a few folks
who want to get on the list, but at least we will be rid of this skumbag.

You may notice that the troll hasn't been posting for a couple of days. Matt
has made progress on this front.

He may have made progress in that effort, but when you send a post to him
and mark it "DO NOT POST" why is it posted on the list??

Because you sent it to the list, not to Matt. As far as I know only "do not
archive" has an effect on the disposition of the message. If you want to send
email only to Matt you need his email address, dralle@matronics.com
The troll was just a person posting messages to the list just like the rest of
us do. His only power was to use profanity to shock and enrage. He had no
other power on the Matronics server so do not attribute more to him than that.

Some of you may know or not know my daughter has her Ph.D. in psychology. I
asked her about the trolls metal health and what to do about it.
The troll's worse fear is NOT being paid attention to. He is not any
different from a 8 year old who wants his way. He most likely has no friends
nor a girl friend, and may be as physically unattractive as the name implies.
He also is a pathetic liar knowing that his real identify will expose him to
being more ostracizes than he already is. A real loner. Once again his
biggest fear is NOT being the center of someone's (ANYONE'S) rage. This is
the core of his existence. If you react to him in any way what so ever, he
has gotten what he wanted. Call him every name in the book, try to reason,
whatever, his has won.
The best way to do these guys in, is pretend they don't exist. That kills
them psychologically more than calling them names. Seeing that, he'll go
bother someone else.
Matt can quickly get them out of our hair too.

Jim,
My research into this event is exactually as what your daughter described to
you.
However, at the time, I wanted to choke this imitation of a person until I
had his(it's?) undivided
attention and explain what an aboration to the species that he (it?) had
become.
Brian Loyd sugested the best solution and that is "do not feed the
troll.".ever. Ignore all responses
from the troll.
