That is pretty cold Mike. What is it called to intentionally seek profit in the misfortune of others? You and I have regularly had our differences but, at least on my part, there was an underlying respect for your flying abilities. --> Yak-List message posted by: "Sam Sax" <cd001633@mindspring.com> Mike, The CJ accident (better termed - incident) you mentioned involved Rob Russo of Miami. I do not have all the facts but apparently, on landing long and faster than usual due to stiff cross wind on a grass field, he was not able to stop and hit the chain link fence. The left wing sustained moderate damage to the leading edge skin and the right only minor damage. Other dents and scuffs up front but nothing a good sheet mental man can't handle. In looking at the wings, I saw no spar damage. He did remember to shut the Mag switch off before engaging the fence. No human skin was damaged. You are one of the better pilots in the group. You have more to offer to the community than many, and are in a position to do it. Yet, all you can muster is to wait idly by in the bushes to throw rocks on someone who trips on the sidewalk. Why? What is it that causes you such fits of irrational, destructive, and down right mean-spirited behavior? I just don't get what drives a person to such hateful words. Barry

If you're lucky, they will give you fuel & oil, to & from your home base, plus a room and a car. If you do any flying in the show, they pay for the gas/oil for that also. Most of us find that great. Others who are in this as a business, want a lot more. They believe that maintenance and insurance costs should be charged also. What those asking prices are I don't know and they get very upset with us who take less. Many of these shows are for charity or other "good" causes and I feel they can keep as much of the loot as they need. It up to you. If the show can't handle the your price, they'll just wouldn't invite you. --> Yak-List message posted by: "A. Dennis Savarese" <adsavar@gte.net> This is just my way of looking at it Robert and is not intended to imply you should do likewise. If I get invited to display my aircraft at an event that promotes aviation awareness to the surrounding community with the proceeds of the event going to a charitable organization like Angel Flight as it states in the letter, then regardless of compensation, I'm going to attend. My reward is knowing that I contributed to promoting aviation and the benefits of aviation to a community which is far more important because of the way general aviation is looked down upon by so many uninformed people. But as I said, that is just me. You'll also most likely have one of the most unique airplanes there which will garner tons of attention. That in itself will be worth it! Enjoy yourself and have a ball talking about your CJ to young and old alike. Take some youngster or oldster up on the wing and then sit them in the cockpit and watch their eyes light up. Especially our forgotten heroes of WWII. They'll remember you for the rest of their lives. I was under the understanding that you only need a commercial ticket for either taking passengers, or doing commercial work like ag spraying or hauling mail etc. I didnt think parking your plane on a ramp and getting some pro-rata fuel was enough grounds for requiring a comercial ticket. I don't know and obviously you don't know the complete story, except what Sam told you . My experience with accident investigations tells me that the complete story will unfold much later than the initial report. I though the idea of assuming pilot error originated with the FAA. I no longer think that is the case.I do know that if you fly on the edge ,often enough and long enough, you also will surely be the subject of an article in the local paper. I hope not, Terry Lewis Does anyone have the details? > > I have a pool going on a couple of the weaker members our group and > wondered > if it was time to collect my money! > > Mike McCoy > > > Mike, > > I'm trying to understand something here. --> Yak-List message posted by: Barry Hancock <radialpower@cox.net> Hi gang: I've just updated the member registration database in each region of the Map Rooms (go to http://www.allredstar.com/Map_RoomUSA.asp) from the registrations we've received so far. If you have filled out the registration form at the Recruiting Office (http://www.allredstar.com/Recruiting_Office.asp) and are not listed on the site, please contact me. If you have not yet registered, please take a moment to fill out the form (above) so you can be added to our data base. Of course, we do not sell our emails, etc., the information is strictly there so other members can contact you, and vice versa. Incidentally, this online data base is exactly what many of you have been requesting...we listened, and you now have this service available. The site is over 70 pages and growing, check back often for updates.... Barry (OJT) Hancock BTW, Drew is doing well...supposedly headed to a desert somewhere at last report...but don't trust me, check CNN for the latest troop movements (who's side are they on, anyway?).
