Got this hint when i bought my Yak.
When my plane is sitting on the ramp there is a bright red shop cloth draped
over the instrument panel. It comes off prior to start up and gets stuffed
behind the air valve. When i shut down and close the valve it returns to the
panel. After securing the plane it just takes a glance at the panel to see
if i remembered to close the valve and it would be hard to do a closed valve
take off with that cloth covering the instruments. Works for me.

NBC is the same station that declared Gore the winner in the 2000
election. They've (MSNBC) also reported some other erronious stuff in
the last 24 hours that they've had to retract. CNN, the Communist News
Network, is a nice break from reality. FOX NEWS is the place....I don't
think any other network is saying "the liberation of Iraq has begun."

To Craig and any Yakers that fall under the Orlando FSDO...
We have a "friend" in the Orlando FSDO. He is an Airworthiness Inspector that
is knowledgable and on "our side". His name is Al Kimball... His brother and
Dad run the Pitts Model 12 Business outside Orlando (which uses the M14P). Al
himself has restored and certified a CJ6 and has worked on other Yaks. He was
very helpful to me when I was in Orlando.
Before we moved to Memphis, he volunteered to re-write my Ops Limits/Specs so that
I wouldn't have a hassle with my new FSDO. He was specific to word it using
the terms "home base" so that whenever I move in the future, I just need to
"advise" the new FSDO of my presence. It worked like a charm when I got to Memphis.
The new inspector, I think, was relieved to not have to "deal" with me...
Craig...when you get to Orlando, give him a call and tell him I said hi, and thanks....
